Us being awesome.
Early careers volunteering.
Those on our early careers scheme have been taking part in volunteering activities. The Southwest (pictured above) helped create a dead hedge for wildlife habitat, cleared litter and leaves from the water maze and park and did weeding of the rose beds.

Our Central group helped towards completing a duck pond for the Green Patch, building raised beds for a new edible flower bed and helped maintain the beautiful community garden.

The North helped make accessible footpaths, cutting and raking meadows, creating and installing signposts, removing invasive species and planting wildflower bulbs.

Then in the South East, the group constructed a post and rail fence to protect the ecology park boundary, wildflower planting and pond management.

An Iron Man.
Ben Douglass completed the Bolton 70.3 Ironman. He finished 4th place overall and 1st place in his age group which qualified him for the Ironman 70.3 world championships. On the day he came out of the swim in 3rd place just a couple of seconds behind the leader, then dropped a few places on the bike before running back into 4th place, finishing in 4 hours and 10 minutes.

Splasherist!
The Bristol admin team along with Olly Price and Ian Gow recently had a social The Splasherist. They suited up and got to work “creatively” throwing and spraying paint. Their mess was magic, and some great pieces were made.

Red-y, set, go.
Bournemouth hosted a comic relief baking challenger earlier this year. Bakers were tasked with making something which included 1 red item. Connor Deamer took the win with a lemon flan with raspberries. A special mention goes Anna Reid who put a twist on a traditional Victoria sponge – presenting it as an ice cream!

The big one.
Callum Franck and his brother completed the London Marathon in 4 hours 18 minutes, raising funds for Cure Parkinson’s and Parkinson’s UK. Two charities that are especially meaningful to them following their mum’s Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2020. So far, they’ve raised just over £4,500.

What’s SUP?
Simon French, Hannah Bladon, Sean Richards, Matt Hall and Adam Hobbs took on a Stand Up Paddleboarding challenge around the Kingsbridge creek. They managed to secure 3rd place!

World cup mad!
Lots of us around the firm have been fully embracing the World Cup fever.
The South East (and friends) set themselves a Strava challenge where they needed to virtually travel from our office all the way to the first stadium in time to watch the first match of the cup.
Together, they travelled over 16,500 miles from Leeds to Vancouver, visiting every World Cup stadium along the way.
This has been an amazing team effort - crossing countries, climates, and even an ocean. We had over 90 people taking part over the weeks, so big pat on the back to you al.

In addition, 12 eager quizzers from Plymouth teamed up in pairs to take part in a World Cup themed quiz. The quiz featured a mixture of general knowledge, maths challenges and football trivia. After the final whistle, Rob and Sean were crowned quiz champions.

Our Manchester office had a World Cup Sweepstake, World Cup themed bake off and a desk decorating competition for their world cup teams.
Summery socials across the UK.
Lots of you have been having your summer parties. An opportunity to unwind, have some fun and connect.
Plymouth & Exeter got the ferry trip over to Mount Edgcumbe, followed by a delicious afternoon tea.
The South East Summer brought colleagues together for an enjoyable afternoon of team building in the beautiful surroundings of the New Forest.
Manchester enjoyed a day out in 31 degrees with 0 shade and a lot of sweaty rounders and sports day games.

Manchester madness!
The Manchester Office have been extremely social these last few months. Here’s some of their highlights.
March saw a St. Patrick’s Day Quiz, a games night and an Eid Celebration Quiz.
April made way for the Great Spring Bake Off. Louis treated everyone to a office microwaved coffee cake that he made over lunch. They also had a crafts night with Eleanor, where she taught people how to make origami flowers, stars and cranes.

In May they had Eurovision Quiz, in June they celebrated 30 years of Dave at Hoare Lea and in July so far there has been a cheese & wine evening in the office.

Keep on pedalling!
Hannah Bladon took on the Ride for Precious Lives from 10-12 July in support of Children's Hospice South West. Cycling 212 miles from Bristol to St Austell over three days alongside 98 fellow riders, she and her fellow riders tackled the challenge in soaring heatwave conditions.

Grosvenor’s 23rd Annual Dragon Boat Regatta.
Those working on the South Molton Triangle went to Dorney Lake, Windsor for the Dragon Boat race. 37 boats (and plenty of competitive spirit) saw a day of fun-packed racing.
All teams raised an incredible £67,494 for Catch22, Grosvenor’s charity partner. The funds will support young people with experience of the care system through the Positive Futures programme.
Mighty hike.
Daniel Davies completed a 26-mile hike around the Gower Peninsula to help raise money for MacMillan. The 26 miles took 10 hours and 50 minutes, finishing at 6pm on the dot. His team finished exactly 400th out of 827 and raised £1376.

Always a challenge, never a chore.
The Reading office have been continuing their streak of challenges and fun – bringing a smile to everyone’s faces.
In April colleagues searched around the office for hidden chicks as part of an Easter egg hunt, followed by an Easter themed quiz. A lively game of Bingo was hosted in early summer by Subash with plenty of rivalry and laughs. They then also had a Games Night, bringing everyone together to enjoy a mix of video games and board games, with favourites including Mario Kart and FIFA.
