At 207,000 sq ft, Welcome Building offers the largest, flexible new office floorplate in Bristol, and has taken its place as one of the most sustainable and wellbeing focused workspaces in the city.
Our Sustainability team helped Welcome Building become one of only three buildings in Bristol to achieve a NABERS Design for Performance Target Rating of 5 stars. We will continue to monitor and support the building management team to ensure this is realised in operation. Our MEP and Vertical Transportation teams contributed to its ultra efficient design, with demand control ventilation, smart system controls, enhanced metering and an impressive PV array. It is also connected to the Bristol Heat Network, procuring low carbon heat which is connected to the water source heat pump at Castle Park energy centre.
Our Acoustics, Lighting and Air Quality teams also helped set new standards for occupier wellbeing, as the first Bristol office development to achieve Well Platinum Certification, alongside BREEAM Outstanding and Five at Heart Platinum. Consideration was given to everything from biodiversity to the enhanced facilities for cyclists, runners, and in-house wellness studio users.
To top it all off, we provided ICT services and Digital Advisory to help deliver this smart connected building with WiredScore Platinum and SmartScore Gold certifications.
Reflections and lessons learned.
