Winter Party in Pall Mall.

Mike Gough and John Hunter recently attended the Institute of Directors (IOD) Winter Party in Pall Mall. As part of the IOD they have a community of other directors in the UK and beyond, who they can connect with, developing their skills and learning from others experiences.

Plymouth initiatives.

January has been a busy month for Plymouth, getting involved with several STEAM events across the region:

  • They visited Plymouth High School for girls to deliver a 6th form careers assembly and support Year 10 mock interviews.
  • They attended Hele’s School careers fair and helped Year 11 mock interviews.
  • Joined UTC College for their careers fair with more than 30 other organisations.

Off the back of their work, we have given out a summer work experience placement to a student with a keen interest in Mechanical engineering.

We were recently part of the Building Plymouth members breakfast meeting with “Class of Your Own”. The guests were invited to learn how the Design Engineer Construct (DEC) Learning Programme can support objectives in meeting major project social value requirements and help solve construction recruitment.

Alison Watson MBE shared the Class of Your Own programme and touched upon our ongoing support through sponsorship and work experience programming. Sam Westaway and Sean Richards shared first-hand experiences of teaching, and learning the DEC programme before they joined Hoare Lea. They have applied knowledge and skills first hand in the work environment with the DEC programme positively influencing their careers and their continued support to STEM learners in education.

NLA's 2025 Expert Panels

Minesh Varia Alice Jackson and Andrew Vernon have been selected to add their expert voices to three of NLA's 2025 Expert Panels.

The Expert Panels will champion bold ideas and initiatives to help steer the New London Agenda through thought leadership that will help direct key business-critical topics and focus areas across NLA's programme, including developing skills to future-proof our industry, unlocking adaptive reuse opportunities, and tackling the challenges of housing regeneration.
