Apprenticeships are typically 3 – 5 years and give you the opportunity to earn while you learn!
Essential Qualifications (choose ONE) • 2 A-levels at A*–C (inc. Maths & Science) • T Level in Construction: Design, Surveying & Planning (Merit+) • BTEC Level 3 Extended/National Diploma in Engineering (with Maths & Further Maths) • Level 3 Apprenticeship as a Building Services Design Technician
Skills & Attributes • Strong analytical & problem-solving ability • Genuine interest in a career within the sector
Applications for Hoare Lea apprenticeships open in February and close in July. Apprentices typically start at Hoare Lea in September ahead of the Building Services apprenticeship course induction at the university.

Reimagining what a hospital can be.
Research has shown that patients with access to views filled with light and greenery are more likely to recover faster. Our engineering and specialist designs helped ensure that the architectural vision – for almost all rooms to have a view of the park – could be a reality.
It’s a true departure from the typical idea of a hospital, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on a building of this scale and complexity further than ever before.
